Everything we do is approached in a “realistic” manner: “It’s impossible.”
“What? How about constructing a plane? In my opinion, you’re a lunatic. “You’re doomed to fail.” Everyone fails, and you are no exception. “You have 1,000 songs in your pocket?” Yes, you’re right.
“A 300-mile-range electric car? That’s incredible.” What comes next? “Is this some kind of time machine?” I exclaimed. The question is, ‘You want to be an artist, right?'” Get a job” is safer. “What’s the point of going around the world? “When everyone around you is telling you that you’re wrong, what will you do? Delusion. At the very least, some of it. Everything that is out of the ordinary is craziness. According to what others say, at least. Those who want to avoid a mundane existence must be both stubborn and foolish. Because it’s perfectly acceptable to lead a routine existence. That doesn’t require any bravery at all. A normal job, a house and the usual responsibilities don’t require a lot of courage. Realists are the majority of people. They’ve got it right, too. It’s only right that you act normally. First building an aeroplane is not a realistic goal. You can’t earn money while travelling the world. An electric vehicle isn’t feasible to design and build at this time. Your dreams aren’t attainable in this life. It is impossible to write a novel in the real world. In reality, it’s impossible to create art. But what’s the point of living a life if you already know what will happen? You don’t have to deal with the pain of failure if you never try—I’ll give you that.
There are some people who aren’t capable of living extraordinary life. I need to pay my bills. “I’m not very lucky today,” I said. I’m well aware of the turmoil in your life. That’s the point, isn’t it? I’ve never encountered a “perfect” person in my entire life. Have you already? Even the well-to-do face difficulties. People who are poor have issues. Is that a valid reason to avoid a task? It’s also not a game of “my problems are worse than yours” in the real world either. Get a dog if you’re looking for extra attention. Always have an excuse to not live the life you want. Truthfully, you’re trying to be a bit more realistic than you really are.
Furthermore, I can assure you: DON’T. Think outside the square. What if we had flying cars? Conventional living. The ability to travel to other planets in the universe. Whatever. Let your hair down and do something out of the ordinary if that’s what you want. Go above and beyond the call of duty.
“Extraordinary people aren’t born; they’re made. In their minds, they’ve set out to do extraordinary things.” Edmund Hillary. For the simple reason that, once you make the decision to be realistic, your life will begin to play out exactly as you’d expect it to. There is no guarantee that you will enjoy the experience. Yes, without a doubt. However, it isn’t anything out of the ordinary. So, the next time someone says something to the effect of, You’re crazy. Every reason to keep going, not a reason to stop. There is no time to waste.
